The Uganda Chapter of the ALT Network is proud to announce their first 2019 conference.
Artificial intelligence has been pursued from as early as 1956, when top minds unraveled the mystery behind automata theory, neural function and the study of intelligence. This study has however evolved from merely the study of intelligent machines with the introduction of the first robots in 1995 to a more sophisticated fusion of human and non-human co-existence. Blockchain on the other hand, is a technology that is facilitating a new wave of innovation that has sparked off a change in the way traditional systems of business and governance are being approached.
Whereas we are not directly involved with these innovations, we, legal practitioners and enthusiasts, will find ourselves at the center of an evolving system and need to prepare for what is being referred to as the “fourth industrial revolution.”
About the Conference
It has been predicted that almost every sector is being affected by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. There is already evidence of this in the form of smart contracts or the move from traditional business computing systems and the technology being deployed to ensure a smoother business environment e.g. documentation processes. Being adamant about the changes in the world today is not an option anymore.
The conference will provide a platform for minds to assimilate the understanding of emerging technologies and process readiness.
The one-day conference is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 5th March 2019 at the Kampala Serena Hotel and will attract indigenous and global stakeholders in the legal profession as well as business entrepreneurs, technology start-ups and enthusiasts and students.
